I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) (www.imsg.com), a Federal Government Contractor located in Rockville, MD is currently seeking to hire highly motivated Science Management Support staff to support NOAA/NESDIS/Center for Satellite Applications Research (STAR) on applied R&D and Research to Operations (R2O). IMSG supports STAR in applied scientific research and transition from research to operations (R2O) in a semi-research and semi-operational working environment along with U.S. government scientists, visiting scientists, and other contractors. The location of this position is Camp Springs, Maryland.

STAR is the science engine of NOAA/NESDIS. It maintains and develops a wide range of operational and experimental remote sensing data product algorithms as well as satellite sensor calibration and validation (CAL/VAL) and data processing capabilities for the current and next generation environmental satellites mainly from U.S., while it is also working with agencies such as NASA, other NOAA agencies (such as NOAA/NESDIS/ESPC, NOAA/NWS/NCEP), as well as international satellite agencies to collaborate on environmental satellite data processing and products generation, including environmental monitoring data products (for land, atmosphere and ocean) from current (e.g. in POES and GOES programs) and next (e.g. in NPP, JPSS, and GOES-R programs) generation satellites that have critical importance for weather forecasting, natural hazards warning, climate change detection, and many other applications.

Duties:
•Provide science and management support to NOAA government Subject Matter Expert and IMSG Task Leader(s)
•Frequently attend science and product systems meetings related to on-going and future U.S. environmental monitoring satellite programs (held at NASA and/or NOAA facilities); summarize meeting notes and update reports to document critical issues, progress and accomplishments
•Support planning, reporting, and coordination activities of environmental satellite product development and Cal/Val teams

Qualifications:
•MS degree Science or Engineering, or BS degree with sufficient working experience
•System engineering and QA experience highly preferable;
•Science background on satellite remote sensing for environmental monitoring (for land, atmosphere, and ocean) is a plus
•Well organized, focus on details
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Excellent command on Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and other commonly used presentation/documentation/scheduling software
•Team player
•U.S. citizen
