The Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve is currently accepting applications for a Coastal Training Program Coordinator. The Coastal Training Program provides up-to-date scientific information and skill-building opportunities to individuals who are responsible for making decisions that affect coastal resources. The goal of the Reserve coastal training program is to have better-informed decision-making regarding coastal resource issues, and improved coastal stewardship at local and regional levels.

The Coastal Training Program works with a wide range of audiences, including land-use planners, elected officials, regulators, land developers, community groups, environmental non-profits and coastal businesses through a variety of formats including seminars, hands-on skill training, participatory workshops, lectures and technology demonstrations. This position is directly responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Coastal Training Program; development of planning documents (i.e., needs assessment surveys); facilitating meetings of an advisory committee; development of web-based materials; providing training programs; and representing the Reserve at regional and national meetings.
