CH2M HILL Environmental Field Monitor Jobs - Santa Ana, California
The challenge? Lead biological, cultural, and compliance monitors in the field during construction activities for large energy transmission projects. Our Environmental Field Monitor career path provides you with the opportunity to will lead a field team that is comprised of subcontractors and be the point of contact for our client in the field. In this senior level position, you will be responsible to oversee the biological, cultural and environmental monitors in the field during construction activities. You will have expertise to manage situations where a sub/field monitor may stop construction for some identified issue. As a Lead Field Monitor you will facilitate corrective action by working with the sub-contractors, our client and Project Managers to resolve situations that involve conflict and require urgent decision-making, while keeping Health & Safety paramount in your approach. Each day, you will be the face of CH2M HILL as you partner with multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure the success of linear transmission projects. You should be a self-motivated professional with 8 years of leading environmental field projects and have a Bachelor?s Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Biology, Environmental Engineering or Construction Management. You should also have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with environmental field monitoring project.

Our Environmental Field Monitors:

• Monitor and ensure comprehensive environmental, compliance throughout all phases of transmission line construction.
• Ensure all required measures are taken for the protection of sensitive resources in accordance with regulations and permits.
• Lead and coordinate field monitors during construction activities in the field as well develop daily and weekly compliance reports.
• Have strong communication skills and the ability to oversee field monitoring activities.
• Responsible for leadership and coordination of environmental monitors in the field during construction activities to proactively maintain environmental compliance.
• Functions as point of contact for client in the field.
• Manages situations where a monitor may stop construction for an identified issues; facilitate corrective action.
• Handle situations that involve conflict and require urgent decision-making while keeping H&S paramount in their approaches.

• This position is in the field 100%.
• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree Environmental Science, Planning, Biology, Environmental Engineering or Construction Management
• 8 years experience leading environmental monitoring teams with the ability to demonstrate strong communication skills and experience in overseeing field monitoring activities including being a liaison between construction contractors, clients and leading technical teams
• CEQA and NEPA knowledge gained through work experience
• Able to be in the field 100%
