The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTMNERR) and the University of North Florida invite applications for the position of Assistant Research Professor. Located near St. Augustine, Florida, the GTM Research Reserve is one of 27 sites around the U.S. that make up NOAA’s National Estuarine Research Reserve System. Responsibilities include 1) managing the Reserve’s Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF) Program, 2) the design and implementation of both applied and basic research at the reserve in concert with local, state, and national partners, 3) supporting internally and externally funded visiting investigators, 4) writing and obtaining research grants, and 5) managing GTM monitoring programs following the standards and timelines set by the National Estuarine Reserve System. Other duties include supervising research staff, the production of annual work plans and budget estimates, research team training and safety requirements, annual employee evaluations and participation in Reserve manager and staff meetings. Location – The Research Coordinator is housed at the GTM NERR near St Augustine and enjoys a position in the Department of Biology at the University of North Florida in nearby Jacksonville, Florida. Requirements - Ph.D. in appropriate field or M.S. in appropriate field with experience. Salary is $40,163.98 per annum plus benefits.
