than 200 students present research at ERF 2001
The Student Judge Coordinators, Dan Childers and Jim
Fourqurean, tallied four days' worth of comments in time for
presentation at the Thursday night closeout party. Nineteen awards
were presented, including Best Graduate Poster (Sarah Frias-Torres,
Florida Inst. of Technol.); Best Undergraduate Poster (Abigail
Knee, REU); Best Graduate Talk (Leila Hamden, George
Mason Univ.); and Best Undergraduate Talk (Miriam Morales-Ramirez,
Univ. Autonoma de Baja California). A special ECSA Poster Award
was presented to Christa Woodley (Southern Mississippi
Univ.). The complete list of awardees is presented below.
Thanks to everyone who judged the student presentations. This
valuable service is greatly appreciated by the students and ensures
high quality presentations by our newest estuarine scientists.
